This course provides the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies using basic life support measures. It is relevant for people working in education, aged and community care, sport, travel and tourism, hospitality, industry enterprises as well as in other community environments.

There are no prerequisite units. Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing basic emergency life support. It is also recommended that participants have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to level 2 of the Australian Core Skills Framework.
