Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (009)
HLTAID009
This course applies to a wide range of settings where emergencies involving cardiac arrest may occur.
There are no prerequisite units. Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing resuscitation, including provision of CPR on the floor. Participants will also need oral communication skills in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency services and a workplace supervisor. It is recommended that participants have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to level 2 of the Australian Core Skills Framework.

Occupational First Aid Skill Set
The Occupational First Aid Skill Set is comprised of four units:
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
- HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
- HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources
This course covers the provision and management of first aid resources, advanced first aid response, life support, and management of casualties, the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical assistance.
